I consider the real beginning of my yoga practice to be the shift to no longer eating animals when I was 7 years old. This was when I started to realise the importance of my choices and actions and (without knowing at the time) the teaching of Ahimsa - non-violence.

I started practising yoga asana in my teens, initially drawn to the the sweaty physicality of Hot Yoga and the feeling of ‘working out’. However, the real reason I stuck with the practice was due to the shift in my mind and spirit. The way my breathing changed and the way I viewed the world around me. I left every class feeling peaceful, inspired and in deeper connection to myself. I eventually found Vinyasa Flow and was quickly hooked on the fluidity, creativity and magic within every class I went to.

Fast forward a a few years and I signed up to my first 200hr training with Talia Sutra and Tony Lupinacci. The three weeks were intense, rigorous and completely cracked my heart open. There was so much love, so many tears, and a lot of learning and unlearning.

Since then I have continued on to study with my dear teacher Daniela Garza Rios, who I have completed 300 hours of training with in mandala vinyasa, Vedic mythology, 5 elements and TCM meridian theory, Thai yoga massage, yin yoga, meditation practices, and Advaita Vedanta.

I currently teach regular in person classes at the beautiful Yogahome in Stoke Newington, as well as online classes with Unite Yoga - an incredible on demand platform led by Taylor Selby and Dan porter.

Ultimately, I believe the practice of yoga brings us back to the core of who we are - our inner essence, our true self - an open and loving self. This practice has held me through some very tough and dark times, and helped me to see the bigger picture. It’s all part of the journey, and it’s all purposeful. As my teacher says, ‘our mess becomes our message'. We have the power to transform our lives if we tune in and listen to whats going on inside. We all have the capacity to awaken to this love and joy. This is what I am so passionate about and hope to share through my offerings as a teacher.

All of it - every experience, every moment - will ultimately allow us to see our attachments and illusions. If we are patient and commit to the inner work, we can surrender the limitations of our stories, bear witness to the attachments we have to our shadow self, and reframe the narratives in a way that empowers. Doing so will bring us closer to the truth of our essence, to love.’
